Shang Tsung Interview

April 29th, 2008

Abstract:

While searching Youtube one night, I came across a video regarding the Mortal Kombat Live Tour from around 1995. The video features actors dressed up as characters from the video game. The actors perform a little show for a local news station and then the character “Shang Tsung” played by Sid Liufau is interviewed by the local news anchor. The news anchor asks Sid about the violent message that Mortal Kombat gives to kids. Sid replies that the message given by Mortal Kombat is a positive message. The news anchor then asks him what the positive message is. This is when the hilarity ensues. His answer is terrible and makes him look like a total retard. After doing some research, me and my friend found the actor’s email address and we each sent him a separate email asking him about his terrible interviewing skills. He actually responded to one of our emails!

The Video:

The ownage starts at around 1:46 in the video.

Here are the emails that we sent Shang Tsung.

Email #1

“Hey it’s Mark  at  KTLA 5 news station down in Los Angeles and I have an important question for you regarding the Mortal Kombat Live Tour.

What sort of positive messages does the Mortal Komat Live Tour give to kids?

Thanks,
Mark

Email #2

“Sid, Hello there, I am a fan of yours and have been following your career for about two weeks now. There has been one question that has been eating away at me for a little while now and I just can’t seem to find answers to it. I am unsure of whether or not you are aware of this, but someone posted a clip of you on Youtube that makes you look like a retard. The link to it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrqEzYqQ-b8

Can you e-mail me back and let me know if this is real or fake? Did you really interview that badly? If so, wtf? If it’s true, why do you laugh once the two characters are done fighting?

Arnold”

His Response to Email #2

“Dear TWO week FAN, Thanks Corkiebunch for your two
weeks of support!

Hopefully through my reply you get the answer you
seek.

OUCH this portion in your life sounds pretty rought,
a 10-year old MK interview on YOU TUBE has your life
eating away at you, WTF!!!!

Wow… OK, I have to admit after just watching that
attachment MK interview crap for the first time ever I
humbly agree that I did interviewed like a Retard!

….Way to look out!!

In my retarded defense, I vividly (which means bits
and pieces) recall 10-years ago none of us actors /
martial artists were expecting to be interviewed,
especialy since the news journalist told us seconds
before we went Live he would just ask our names, and
that’s all we were expecting to do.

So you can say my black-out brain was trying to
imprevise, however unfortunately my laughs were part
of TSHANGS charector not mine, for real!

AS FOR ME! In my humble outlook in LIFE I am not a
person who takes myself to serious to think I need to
come across to people as being perfect and don’t make
mistakes.

I laugh at myself all the time, because i’m not
perfect and I get it. If we can’t LAUGH at yourself
then we’re missing the best laughters in life.

If good, bad or stupid things surface anywhere, even
on the TUBE… I take it for what it’s worth.

I had great reviews about me on ‘YOU, ME and DuPREE’,
thats a comedy movie which stars Owen Wilson, and
yours truely, The RETARD.

I play a security guard name PACO! I still laugh at
this charector all the time.

The POINT I’m making is if known critics gave me bad
reviews as an actor, should I just quit! The same
applies to good reviews.

I don’t use reviews or others critics as a valid card
that operates my decisions, I’ve already made it
15-years ago when I got into acting.
As for my latest project, this JUNE, SPIKE TV will air
a movie of the week called STREET WARROIR in which I
play ISAIHA the undefeated champion engaged in
under-ground cage fighting!

In closing I hope you enjoy these movies and decide to
stay a supportive fan for more then two weeks. Thank
You

Best wishes and GOD bless

50caliberterror.com is no good.

April 11th, 2008

50calterror

I was researching gun laws on the internet one night and I came across this lovely website. You can view this website at www.50caliberterror.com. The idea of the website is to draw attention against the possible damage a 50 caliber rifle could do in the hands of a terrorist. The group who runs the website is dedicated to getting 50 calibers outlawed for personal use. Being a supporter of gun ownership, I thought I would take the time to write about why I don’t like this website.

For those of you not familiar with the 50 caliber rifle, the 50 caliber cartridge was developed in the early 1900s for machine gun use. Years later it has been adapted for sniper rifle use. The round itself travels at about 4 times faster than the average hunting round and delivers about 4 times the amount of energy. It is a very powerful round and outside military use, it is not very practical. That is to say if you shot a deer with this gun it would probably blow it in half and ruin a lot of good meat.

“Why should we be spending billions of dollars on homeland security when a terrorist can buy a sniper rifle that can shoot armor piercing bullets up to 2000 yards with great accuracy?” - 50caliberterror

The main argument made by the people at 50caliberterror is the possibility that a terrorist could acquire one of these weapons and use it to do harm against us. Because of this, the weapon itself should be banned from personal use. I have lots of problems with this argument. Terrorists could use airplanes to do harm against us. Oh wait, they already did that. There is no movement to ban airplanes though, thankfully. It makes me wonder why these people are focusing on the .50 caliber round. There are more powerful guns out there available to the public. There is the .577 T-rex and the .700 nitro express.

The people that run the website have done extensive research and they were able to find about 25 cases in which the 50 caliber rifle was “involved” in crime. I put involved in quotes because about 75% of the cases they found were of authorities finding a 50 caliber rifle when they did a raid. They just found the gun and it was never actually used for crime. The rest of the cases they found were pretty bizarre. There was the case when a guy in Colorado went crazy and drove a bulldozer into a building. The guy attached a 50 caliber to his bulldozer but never got around to firing it. Out of all the cases they could dig up, they couldn’t come up with a single case in which someone was killed by a 50 caliber in the USA.

What I am getting at is there is no evidence, in crime records, to support that the 50 caliber is any threat in the hands of private owners. The only people that buy 50 calibers are gun connoisseurs. A good 50 caliber rifle is going to run around $3,000. The average Joe isn’t going to want one of these weapons because it doesn’t have a practical use. So why would someone buy it? It’s the same reason someone would buy a car that can do over 200mph. People like to collect things and own things that go beyond common convention. People who own 50 calibers are passionate about guns. They enjoy going to the range and firing a round that can travel over a mile.

Why is 50caliberterror picking on this round and not the other more common rounds? The 50 caliber rifle is an easy target because of its power. They have to start somewhere, why not the 50 caliber? Their ultimate goal, undoubtedly, is to ban guns from all private ownership. It’s just as easy for a terrorist to acquire an RPG as it is to acquire a 50 caliber rifle. If you outlawed the 50 caliber in the USA, a terrorist could still acquire one through the black market very easily. Let 50 caliber owners have their fun. The only people being killed by the 50 caliber right now are terrorists by our elite 50 caliber sniper teams.

What I would like to know is what actions are the people at 50caliberterror taking to outlaw the gun that the joker used to shoot down the bat plane.

Joker

If it can shoot down the bat plane, imagine the damage it could do in the hands of a terrorist.
