Shang Tsung Interview
Abstract:
While searching Youtube one night, I came across a video regarding the Mortal Kombat Live Tour from around 1995. The video features actors dressed up as characters from the video game. The actors perform a little show for a local news station and then the character “Shang Tsung” played by Sid Liufau is interviewed by the local news anchor. The news anchor asks Sid about the violent message that Mortal Kombat gives to kids. Sid replies that the message given by Mortal Kombat is a positive message. The news anchor then asks him what the positive message is. This is when the hilarity ensues. His answer is terrible and makes him look like a total retard. After doing some research, me and my friend found the actor’s email address and we each sent him a separate email asking him about his terrible interviewing skills. He actually responded to one of our emails!
The Video:
The ownage starts at around 1:46 in the video.
Here are the emails that we sent Shang Tsung.

“Sid, Hello there, I am a fan of yours and have been following your career for about two weeks now. There has been one question that has been eating away at me for a little while now and I just can’t seem to find answers to it. I am unsure of whether or not you are aware of this, but someone posted a clip of you on Youtube that makes you look like a retard. The link to it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrqEzYqQ-b8
Can you e-mail me back and let me know if this is real or fake? Did you really interview that badly? If so, wtf? If it’s true, why do you laugh once the two characters are done fighting?
Arnold”
His Response to Email #2
“Dear TWO week FAN, Thanks Corkiebunch for your two
weeks of support!
Hopefully through my reply you get the answer you
seek.
OUCH this portion in your life sounds pretty rought,
a 10-year old MK interview on YOU TUBE has your life
eating away at you, WTF!!!!
Wow… OK, I have to admit after just watching that
attachment MK interview crap for the first time ever I
humbly agree that I did interviewed like a Retard!
….Way to look out!!
In my retarded defense, I vividly (which means bits
and pieces) recall 10-years ago none of us actors /
martial artists were expecting to be interviewed,
especialy since the news journalist told us seconds
before we went Live he would just ask our names, and
that’s all we were expecting to do.
So you can say my black-out brain was trying to
imprevise, however unfortunately my laughs were part
of TSHANGS charector not mine, for real!
AS FOR ME! In my humble outlook in LIFE I am not a
person who takes myself to serious to think I need to
come across to people as being perfect and don’t make
mistakes.
I laugh at myself all the time, because i’m not
perfect and I get it. If we can’t LAUGH at yourself
then we’re missing the best laughters in life.
If good, bad or stupid things surface anywhere, even
on the TUBE… I take it for what it’s worth.
I had great reviews about me on ‘YOU, ME and DuPREE’,
thats a comedy movie which stars Owen Wilson, and
yours truely, The RETARD.
I play a security guard name PACO! I still laugh at
this charector all the time.
The POINT I’m making is if known critics gave me bad
reviews as an actor, should I just quit! The same
applies to good reviews.
I don’t use reviews or others critics as a valid card
that operates my decisions, I’ve already made it
15-years ago when I got into acting.
As for my latest project, this JUNE, SPIKE TV will air
a movie of the week called STREET WARROIR in which I
play ISAIHA the undefeated champion engaged in
under-ground cage fighting!
In closing I hope you enjoy these movies and decide to
stay a supportive fan for more then two weeks. Thank
You
Best wishes and GOD bless
Sid Liufau
